Jason did a fantastic job for us. We had dozens of small places around the house that needed to be repaired, patched, primed and painted. He did it all and for the best price we could find. Would hire him again in a second.

Jason did a tremendous job painting the interior of our home. It was a rather large job and very high ceilings. He was able to accomplish quickly and with great detail. Will use again in the future and recommend to others.

Absolutely amazing work so glad I finally found someone that I can use forever! Highly recommend!! Super professional and affordable.

Jason was fantastic! He was the best quote and his quality work was excellent! I will definitely recommend him to my family and friends and if I ever need a painter in the future Jason will be the one and only call that I make!

I interviewed 4 painting companies for a large interior painting project and hired Kerstons. This was a very expensive project and it was very important that I hire a painter that was going to deliver and this company did. I could not get over how perfect the lines were. You can trust this company and that's important, plus they do great work.

Great experience! They transformed the entire house and it looks beautiful. Very professional and affordable. I highly recommend them.

Careful Work on Original Plaster and Trim
Interior painting is the larger share of what we do in this borough, because the housing is old enough that walls need real attention before a roller touches them. Plaster is common, wood trim is original on many houses, and both behave differently from modern drywall. Exterior work concentrates on trim, porches, soffits, and shutters rather than whole-body repaints, since so much of the stock is brick.

Experienced in Small Borough Housing Stock
The borough is compact, mostly built out between the 1920s and the 1950s, and laid out along the Ardmore Boulevard corridor with quiet residential streets climbing away from it. Homes sit close together on modest lots, which changes the work in practical ways: ladder access is tighter, overspray is never an option, and a neighbor's siding is often a few feet from the wall being painted. Brushwork and masking carry these projects.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both sides of the house, and the surface repair that has to happen first. We do interior painting, exterior painting, commercial painting, cabinet painting, wallpaper removal, and drywall repair including popcorn ceiling removal. View all of our services.
Regularly. Much of the housing here went up between the 1920s and 1950s with original plaster, and it takes a different approach from drywall. Plaster needs the right primer to seal the surface, and any cracks or loose areas have to be repaired first. Done properly the finish is excellent and lasts. Done quickly it fails at every crack within a year.
For a house this size, most exteriors run three to five working days once conditions cooperate. Prep is the variable rather than the painting: a house with sound surfaces moves quickly, and one with failing paint on the trim can add a couple of days on its own. Weather sets the rest of the schedule.
Carefully, and mostly by brush. On tight lots there is no room for overspray, so we mask heavily, protect the neighboring property as well as yours, and work surfaces by hand where a sprayer would be a risk. It takes longer than an open suburban lot and it is the only responsible way to do it.
The region averages over 44 inches of snow and more than 100 nights below freezing. On older houses the vulnerable points are wood trim, porch columns, and soffits, where moisture gets into a failed caulk line, freezes, and pushes the paint off. Brick bodies hold up well, which is why most exterior work here is detail work rather than full repaints.
